Different datacentres, multiple Azure tenants and a mix of legacy and cloud-native environments all existed side by side. This rising complexity made consistency difficult, slowed development teams and limited the company’s ability to scale.

To support future growth, Optimizers needed a more standardised and flexible IT foundation. The goal was to integrate new acquisitions more easily, improve the developer experience and create a stable environment for modern DevOps practices. Uniserver and CloudNation were selected as strategic partners, combining Uniserver’s sovereign and high-performance private cloud with CloudNation’s deep expertise in Azure and Microsoft 365.

Together, the teams designed a hybrid cloud environment that brings clarity and structure back into the organisation. A large part of Optimizers’ infrastructure now runs in Uniserver’s Virtual Datacenter, supported by managed Kubernetes environments where extra operational control is essential. The introduction of Uniconnect created a direct and secure link between Uniserver and Azure, making it simple to place each workload in the environment where it performs best.

A key part of the project was reducing fragmentation. Multiple Azure tenants were consolidated into a single environment, identity and access management were streamlined with Microsoft Entra ID and secure connectivity was established between all offices, the private cloud and Azure through MPLS and ExpressRoute. This created a consistent technical base that allows development teams to work faster and with fewer dependencies.

The result is a hybrid cloud strategy that supports Optimizers’ ambitions. It provides predictable performance for critical systems, flexibility for rapid scaling and an infrastructure designed for automated releases and continuous improvement. Uniserver’s stability-first design principles ensure a dependable foundation, while CloudNation’s Azure expertise helps Optimizers adopt modern cloud capabilities in a controlled and efficient way.
