Riedel x Uniserver and Ictivity: A fast IT rebuild for a production chain that should never stop.
Riedel, the company behind Appelsientje, CoolBest, DubbelFrisss and Taksi, produces juice for several European markets from its factory in Ede. After separating from FrieslandCampina in 2018, the company had to rebuild its entire IT environment from scratch.
All core systems, from ERP and warehouse back-ends to workplace environments and licences, needed to be redeveloped independently. To make this transition fast and secure, Riedel partnered with Ictivity, supported by Uniserver’s private cloud platform.
A cloud-first approach was essential. Industrial IT is tightly linked to Riedel’s production process, and even brief disruptions can halt forklift terminals, delay logistics and impact the entire line. Stability and continuity were therefore critical.
In close collaboration, Ictivity and Uniserver rebuilt the complete office IT environment in just four months. Only a small part of the existing hardware remained. All software and back-end systems were re-engineered and implemented on Uniserver’s cloud platform, after which Ictivity took over full operational management. Adoption consultants supported staff on-site, ensuring a smooth transition to the new environment.
The impact was immediate. Riedel gained a more stable and responsive IT backbone, with shorter turnaround times for changes and new initiatives. This allowed the organisation to work more data-driven, including the introduction of Microsoft Power BI. The internal perception of IT improved significantly, with far fewer disruptions and a much stronger user experience.
Nearly five years on, Ictivity continues to manage Riedel’s workplace, helpdesk, network and back-end systems, all running on Uniserver’s secure cloud infrastructure. The partnership has expanded to include major network upgrades and new collaboration tools such as SharePoint and an improved intranet.
Riedel is now preparing for the next phase. With the current environment nearing the end of its lifecycle, the company is developing a new baseline that will support further automation and future innovations, including the use of AI-driven support tools.
This collaboration shows how a cloud-first IT reset, delivered in partnership with Ictivity and Uniserver, can create a stable and scalable foundation for a demanding production environment where continuity is essential.
